The East Lancs Railway held their 2010 summer diesel gala over the weekend of 2nd-4th July. Several members of the home diesel fleet were in action alongside locos visiting from other preserved lines. As a mainline registered loco, visiting Class 50 No. D444 'Exeter' was not only able to travel to the ELR under its own power, but it made its way from the Severn Valley Railway via Barrow Hill to collect the other visiting locos. The two tone green machine is seen heading east from Bury with the 2J88 17:06 Rawtenstall to Heywood service on July 3rd. Canon EOS 5D, 1/320, f6.3, ISO400.
