OH Electric Loco No. 2 on Strassfurt Sodawerk 600mm gauge railway system being pulled through the limestone loading hoppers on Forderstedter Strasse (route L7No. 2) North East of Strassfurt. The loco pulls empty hoppers from the works, uncouples, draws forward, then lets the 4 wagons run forward on the line to the hoppers, re-couples on the front. The driver then connects a hook to a winch before pushing the wagons into the hopper for loading. The driver operates the loading from a small control room where he also controls the winch which moves the hoppers in line with the chutes. The photo was taken on Monday No. 24th May No. 2010 which was a public holiday in Germany, but as it is a near continuous process and two trains were operating.
