Victim turned villain: SR Maunsell Class 5 4-6-0 No. 30777 'Sir Lamiel' seen in Oxenhope carriage sidings during the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway's 40th Anniversary Steam Gala. The locomotive had been trapped at Oxenhope following the derailment of Class 47 No. 47760, leading to the cancellation of the three planned main line outings to Settle Junction on Saturday. The evening main line trip to Ribblehead Viaduct went ahead as planned, but the locomotive only reached Skipton before failing and the train had to be rescued by a Class 37 diesel. All four of the Sunday main line services to Settle Junction had to be diesel hauled.
