Over a number of weeks in 2013, Trans-Pennine Express ran a series of route learning trips between Sheffield and Cleethorpes, via Retford, fuelling speculation of a new service, which came to nought. Class 185 No. 185122 passes Retford with the 1315 Cleethorpes to Sheffield ECS working on 6th May 2013.
