Mostly used on the eastern side of the Pennines Transpennine Class 802 units are also used to suppplement the Class 397 units on west coast workings. On 11th October 2024 Class 802 No. 802216 heads past Grayrigg with the 08.12 Edinburgh - Manchester Airport service.
