On the 20th September 2024, Scotland's Classic Splendour Royal Scotsman arrives in Aviemore, the 08:40 Kyle of Lochalsh - Boat of Garten service, hauled by GBRf Class 66/7 No. 66746. At Aviemore the train is reversed onto the Straphspey Railway. Here the train is hauled to the Boat of Garten by a locomotive from this railway. On this date, It was Class 31/1 No. 31327 that did the honours.
