LMS Black Five 4-6-0 No. 44871 at Birkett Common on 3rd August 2024 with 'The Cumbrian Mountain Express' returning from Carlisle to London Euston. West Coast Railways Class 57 No. 57314 is on the rear of the train. The Black Five will work the train to Hellifield before giving way to a West Coast Railways diesel.
