On the 19th July 2024 Network Rail NMT, infrastructure measurement train, on the 05:34 London Paddington - Derby RTC, was viewed powering through Willington station, lead by Class 43/0 No. 43013 ‘John Carne OBE' with Colas Class 43/2 No. 43274 on the rear.
