In what may be a first in preservation on a heritage railway, a pair of Merchant Navy Class Bulleid Pacific locomotives double heading a passenger service. In this scene captured on 7th June 2024, the first day of the Swanage Railway Strictly Bulleid II Gala No. 35006 'Peninsular and Oriental S.N. Co.' and 35018 'British India Line' round the curve towards Norden with the 10:45 departure from Swanage to River Frome. Battle of Britain Class Bulleid Pacific No. 34053 'Sir Keith Park' can be seen attached to the rear, this loco will haul the train back from River Frome. The pilot loco will be detached at Norden leaving 35018 and 34053 to work to River Frome and back.
