The first Class 45 Mainline working in 17 years occurred on 29th May 2024 when newly refurbished No. 45118 'The Royal Artilleryman', in BR blue livery and featuring 'domino' headcode panels, took Class 40 No. D213 (40013) 'Andania', in BR green livery, and Class 37/4 No. 37409 'Loch Awe', in Intercity ScotRail livery, on the 14:28 Barrow Hill to Crewe light engines working, seen passing Catholme. All 3 locomotives belong to Locomotive services Ltd.
