On 26th May 2024 GWR Castle Class 4-6-0 No. 5043 Earl of Mount Edgcumbe was in charge of the Vintage Trains Shakespeare Express from Derby to Stratford upon Avon. It is seen on the approach to Acocks Green in south Birmingham, having just made a scheduled stop at Tyseley. It later returned via the North Warwickshire line. Class 47 No. 47773 is on the rear and was used for a reversal at Hatton. This was the first of three Shakespeare Express services this year to start away from Birmingham.
