Ex GA Class 321 No. 321321 and No. 321305 at Chelmsford on 25th March 2024 working 10:36 Ilford EMUD-Witham. It turns out that these two will be running around for a bit longer than we all thought. Although No. 321321 is in perfect working order, No. 321305 has a traction motor fault. When the power controller is opened, the VCB (Vacuum Circuit Breaker) keeps tripping and returning the traction current to the motors back to nothing, so this is currently being sorted.Once this has been solved on the trial runs to Witham/V97 and/V99 where applicable), then the 800 to 1000 miles of fault free running will commence, as they have to return to the leasing company in perfect working condition and be fault free before they can be handed back.Although it's a run as required diagram, the usual running days seem to be one return trip of one diagram on either a, Tuesday or, although, as it?s down as RAR, this could of course be any day.To boot, only one driver at Ilford signs them as the rest ran out of competency since they left Greater Anglia in April 2023!.
