Preserved Class 86 No. 86259/E3137 Les Ross/Peter Pan leaves the formation of the Rail Touring Company Promoted Whitby Flyer at York on a 'light engine' positioning movement to York Holgate Sidings. It would be replaced by LMS Black Five 4-6-0 No. 44871 and West Coast Railways Class 47 No. 47815 Great Western at the rear of the formation to assist with reversals along its route to and from the Yorkshire Coast.
