Stored on the site of the closed Canklow (41D) MPD, and formerly used at the closed Staveley Works, LMS Class 1F 0-6-0T No. 41708 awaits its fate on 24th June 1966. Not officially withdrawn until December 1966, it was eventually saved for preservation and presently resides at its former MPD, now known as the Barrow Hill Roundhouse.
