Baden Wuerttemburg currently operates an interim loco-hauled service from Wendlingen to Ulm over the new high-speed line in order to serve the station at Merklingen - Schwäbische Alb. The locos are required as no EMUs are equipped with ETCS. Vecton No. 193242 heads the 19:24 departure from Wendlingen after arrival at Ulm Hbf on 18th October 2023.
