With new colour lights in position and semaphore signals soon to be abolished at Leicester, 31438 approaches the station during a shunt movement on 28th March 1986. A future isolation of its electric train heating (ETH) saw No. 31438 become No. 31538 before eventual withdrawl in 1995, and is now in preservation.
