On 14th July 2023, on very wet afternoon in the East Midlands at Sutton Bonnington on the midland main line, GBRf Class 47/7 No. 47749, City of Truro heads for Old Dalby hauling a set of barrier vehicles and EMR's first bi-mode mulitiple unit, Class 810, No. 810001, with GBRf Class 56 No. 56081 trailing at the rail. The move started at Merchant Park sidings, Newton Aycliffe, at the Hitachi facility where the order ounits for EMR will be built, with services planned to commence in 2024.
