Built by Electroputere, Romania, as sub-contractors for Brush, Class 56 No. 56008 sits on accomodation bogies in Doncaster Works yard on 7th November 1976. It was necessary to carry out considerable rectification works to the thirty locomotives supplied from Romania (Nos. 56001 - 56030) following delivery and resulted in a protracted entry into service.
