West Coast Railways Class 47 No. 47746 Chris Fudge leads Merchant Navy class Pacific No. 35018 British India Line, passing Copmanthorpe on 19th May 2023 with an empty stock working from Carnforth to York Holgate sidings. The movement from Carnforth was in preparation for the Railway Touring Co.s Edinburgh Flyer the following day which the Merchant Navy was due to work. However, the Pacific was failed on arrival into York due to wheel flats. Fortunately, Carnforth were able to prepare a substitute locomotive and Royal Scot No. 46115 Scots Guardsman duly arrived in York at around 22.00 on evening.
