Class R No. R704 4-8-4 convertible gauge was built at North British Locomotive Co. in 1951, and was exhibited at the Festival of Britain in Glasgow that year. No. R704 had a tractive effort of 32000lbf and was used on passenger services until 1967, and is seen at the Newport Railway Museum, Melbourne Australia, on 11th April 2023.
