Steamrail No. D3.639 4-6-0 5ft 3in gauge built 1903 at Newport workshops was one of the first Australian steam locomotives to be preserved and run on the mainline in 1964. No. D3.639 remains operational and is seen at the Steamrail Newport Workshops, Melbourne Australia, on 11th April 2023.
