With the normal route being closed for a month to allow upgrades in the Stalybridge area, First Transpennine are operating a limited service via the Calder Valley route with two trains an hour in each direction. on 30th March 2023 First Transpennine Class 802 No. 802201 passes Hebden Bridge with the 11.21 Manchester Victoria - Newcastle service.
