On 28th January 2023, a points failure in Stockport resulted in the diversion of the 08:42 Hindlow to Small Heath Lafarge loaded aggregates working headed by Class 66/7 No. 66755 Tony Berkeley OBE, through Manchester Oxford Road to gain access to the WCML at Winwick Junction.
