Due to strike actions, the first passenger working since the 21:21 Crewe to Nottingham service on 2nd January 2023 on the North Stafford line was the 14:10 Crewe to Derby (not Newark Castle) service on 8th January 2023, nearly 6 days absence, with EMR Class 156 DMU No. 156403, the old order still surviving in EMT livery with EMR Regional branding, and passes Marston on Dove.
