Direct Rail services Class 66/4 No. 66432 brings the Carlisle to Crewe Engineers train through platform 4 at, a busy, Carlisle on 26th July 2022. Also in the station are Transpennine Express Class 397 No. 397001, stabled on one of the center roads, and stood in platform 3 is West Coast Rail Class 47/0 No. 47245 'VE Day' on the rear of the recently arrived 'Dalesman' charter. To the extreme left is the Mk2 DBSO of a Network Rail infrastructure monitoring train, while on the right Northern Rail Class 158 No. 158752 waits to depart with a service to Leeds.
