Having been undergoing significant overhaul since 2015 LNER class A4 No. 4498 Sir Nigel Gresley is back on the mainline and pictured at Long Preston on 21st May 2022, with the 08.27 Crewe - Carlisle via the S&C private railtour for members of the Sir Nigel Gresley Locomotive Trust. The immaculate locomotive wears LNER black livery which it carried in the 1940s but will be repainted in BR blue shortly.
