A gap about to be bridged. The replacement girder bridge, built on site by Skanska over the past 22 months, will be rolled into place over the weekend of 7th/8th May 2022. It will carry the Aston - Stechford Line over the former Midland Railway Birmingham to Derby line, and in time also the HS2 main line as well as access tracks to their new Depot at Washwood Heath. on 6th May 2022, DB Cargo Class 66/0 No. 66198 heads the 1038 Corby B.S.C. - Margam TC steel empties through a scene that will soon see considerable change.
