To allow crew training and trial running of Class 91 electric locomotives before delivery of the Driving Van Trailers (DVT's), a number of Class 43 HST power cars were modified with buffers etc. to become surrogate DVT's. As such No. 43068 approaches Retford leading a rake of empty stock with Class 91 No. 91006 propelling the formation on 1st March 1989.
