The launch of Lumo services on the ECML commenced on 25th October 2021. Here class 803 No. 803001 works the 1045 from King's Cross to Edinburgh passing Copmanthorpe, on the approach to York. At present there are two services in each direction, the northbound trains use the freight avoiding line through York, running non-stop to Newcastle, before a call at Morpeth.
