On 6th January 2018, the empty coaching stock off the 08.15 Christchurch to Greymouth TranzAlpine service makes its way to the sidings for the locomotives to run-round prior to forming the 14.00 back to Christchurch. The motive power consists of Kiwi Rail DXC type No. 5402 plus 5431 and 5419.
