On 15th August 1988, Class 58 No. 58026 hauling Mantle Lane to Didcot Power station failed. Class 58 No. 58006 was sent to assist and also failed. The next day, classmate No. 58001 took the empty MGR wagons and failed locos north. Seen here departs from the power station.
