LMS Black 5 No. 44871 stands at Crewe on November 23rd 2019, while Virgin Class 390 No. 390125 snakes around behind it. The Pendolino, one of the decreasing number still in full Virgin livery, was working to Glasgow and had just left Platform 11 and was re-joining the main line north. The Black 5, which had to bring its train from Shrewsbury, some 32 miles as an ECS move, to allow the loco to turn, and was in the end delayed by an hour by operating issues.
