The regular Mountsorrel - Carlisle ballast service has recently moved from DRS Class 66 operation to Colas Class 70 operation. On 12th April 2019 Colas Class 70 No. 70805 passes Horrocksford Junction at Clitheroe with the 09.16 Mountsorrel - Carlisle working. The line to the right leads to the Castle Cement works.
