Bury Standard 4 Group have been working on this locomotive since 1985, at the autumn steam gala in October the loco ran light through the platforms at Bury Bolton Street in between the passenger trains. Afterwards it had 5 or 6 runs, light engine, to Heywood and on the last trip was found to have a hot axlebox. The loco has been lifted in Bury shed and while the axlebox was being repaired several other jobs have been completed too. Today on 30th December the loco has again been running light through the platforms at Bury Bolton Street and, as all was well, it ran up to Ramsbottom and back three times. Further loaded test runs will be carried out early in the new year before, hopefully, 80097 enters service on the line.
