December 16th 2018 saw the unusual sight of top and tail operation on the Swanage Railway, believed to be due to the poor rail conditions and the operation of a six coach train. Here LSWR Drummond T9 No. 30120 receives rear assistance from SR U Class No. 31806 on the approach to Harmans Cross during a brief lull in the rain, with the 1515 Santa service from Swanage.
