Local services at Wigan North Western are now dominated by Class 319s. On 10th August 2018, three examples line-up at the station, with No. 319371 forming a service from Manchester Airport to Blackpool North, No. 319361 working over the same route, but in the reverse direction, and No. 319377 is forming a service to Liverpool Lime Street.
