On the 4th April 2018, a contrast between old and new could be seen with Direct Rail Services class 57 No. 57308 Jamie Fergusonstanding along side Royal Scot Class 4-6-0 No. 46100 Royal Scot as she wore the Royal Scot headboard at platform 12 of Crewe.
