The rail terminal on Lake Tinn now home to train ferry SF Ammonia, a contemporary the SF Hydro is now a world heritage site. SF Hydro is famous for being sunk by the Norwegian Resistance in WWII. It was carrying a consignment of Heavy Water from Vemork across Lake Tinn for onward travel to Germany. It was also carrying Norwegian civillians, some family members of the Resistance who are now known as The heroes of Telemark.
