BR Standard Class 7P Pacific No. 70052 (Firth of Tay) has arrived at Nottingham Victoria with a semi-fast service from London Marylebone on 23rd October 1965. After Willesden Depot closed to steam in September 1965 8 BR Standard Pacifics with high capacity tenders were located to Banbury for the semi-fast workings, but were all relocated to Carlisle in January 1966, leaving a small number of LMS Black 5 4-6-0s in poor condition for the services until the line closed in September 1966.
