Class 55 No. 55009 Alycidon poses outside at Doncaster Works on 20th August 1982 having been purchased by the Deltic Preservation Society and handed over to them at a ceremony that day. The loco then went forward to Thornaby behind Class 37/0 No. 37100 in the company of Class 55 No. 55019 en route to Grosmont and the NYMR.
