First Great Western-liveried Class 43 HST power car rests at Reading en route from London Paddington to Bristol Temple Meads on 28th August 2017. Thousands of Reading Festival-goers crowded the station throughout the morning, heading home after the number one UK music festival which took place over the August Bank Holiday Weekend. Extra customer services staff were on hand to guide travellers to their trains, while armed and unarmed police officers were highly visible as part of heightened security measures.
