12 Class 37s were renumbered into Class 37/3s when fitted with strengthened couplings and modified brake blocks for the Ravenscraig steel workings. Here the nameplate "British Steel Ravenscraig" is seen on No. 37310 when on its home Depot of Motherwell on 12th August 1989. Just a month later No. 37310 was renumbered back to No. 37152, and this locomotive has been preserved at Peak Rail.
