Built by Andrew Barclay & Son in 1918 (Works No. 1605) 0-6-0T No.W38 "Ajax" is seen on display at Havenstreet on 1st July 2017. The locomotive was built to the order of The Sulphide Corporation of London but, on completion, was requisitioned by The Ministry of Munitions and sent to Persia. Remaining in Persia for many years, latterly with The Anglo-Persian Oil Company, "Ajax" was eventually shipped back to Britain, working for The Llandarcy Refinery, Stanton Iron Works and Harlaxton Ironstone Quarries before being loaned by a private owner to The IOW Railway in 1972.
