Northern Class 156440 and 156460 at the rear slowly reverse back into the station at Heald Green on 11th May 2017. This service was the 11.05 Preston to Manchester Airport service, originally dur to originate at Blackpool North but started at Preston due to late incoming stock. The service then suffered a further delay due to points failure south of Heald Green, blocking the airport branch. The consist therefore had to reverse back into the station to allow passengers with flights to catch to disembark and find alternative transport. The points were eventually fixed and the service made it ti the airport 67 minutes late.
