Class 33 No. 33022 arrives at Exeter St Davids on 5th August 1982 with a loaded ballast working from Meldon Quarry. In the headshunt, Class 45 No. 45134 waits to bank the Class 33 and its train up the 1 in 34 incline up to Exeter Central station. No. 45 134 continued in service until September 1987, while No. 33022 continued in service until September 1989.
