Parked next to an extremely wonky fence alongside York MPD on 29th March 1978 is Healey Mills allocated Class 40 No. 40051. Entering BR service during December 1959 she has already hauled her last train in BR service having been withdrawn in January 1978 while at York MPD becoming the 16th member of the class to succumb. Poor condition, surplus to requirements, vacuum braked only and a useful source of spare parts ensured her early fate, the secondmans windscreen already having been removed. Towed down the ECML No. 40051 was later scrapped at BR Doncaster Works during October 1978.
