Scaffolding surrounds Chiltern Railways Class 165 Turbo DMU No. 165031 which is about to depart Aylesbury Station for the 12:30 service to London Marylebone on 7th March 2017.
An extensive programme of upgrade and improvement work is in progress in a joint project between Chiltern Railways and Network Rail which includes repair and refurbish of the station footbridge.
The footbridge refurbishment is a major undertaking, which will mean that the bridge won't need any further major works for at least 20 years. This work requires the bridge to be completely closed to passengers, so a temporary bridge has been installed for passenger use.
