Class 86 No. 86253 The Manchester Guardian stands at Carlisle on 13th April 1984 having arrived with the 10.20 Euston - Stranraer service. The Class 86 is about to be replaced by No. 47530 for the remainder of the journey. No. 86253 later became Network Rail's No. 86901 and now faces scrapping.
