With Carnforth's Coaling tower dominating the skyline, West Coast Railways Class 47/0 No. 47237 stands in Carnforth Up and down goods loop after arriving from Preston after working the first leg of the Cumbrian Mountain Express from Crewe on 20th August 2016. Ex LMS Royal Scot Class 4-6-0 No. 46115 Scots Guardsman worked the train north to Carlisle and returned around the coast route back to Carnforth before handing over to diesel traction again.
