Talk about striking it lucky. Whilst touring Virginia USA at the end May 2015 I was lucky enough to be there on the day that Norfolk and Western J class 611 made its first mainline trip after its second restoration between Greensborogh NC and Roanoke VA, where it was built in May 1950. This picture was taken on 30th May 2015 at the Thaxton road crossing, although not travelling very fast it made for a very impressive sight. Full details of this impressive locomotive can be found on the fire up 611 web site.
